Northside Middle School offers 7th and 8th grade students the opportunity to study Spanish or French for high school credit. If a student is placed in a Global Studies Pathway, they will have to take a world language.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your student's teacher, or Mrs. Newlin.

Below are the state standards adopted by the Indiana Department of Education.  They are aligned with the National Academic Standards for World Languages.

Each student receives a Spartan Blue Book at the beginning of the academic year.  Students are expected to record assignments and important dates and to carry the Blue Book with them to all classes.  Parents should also read the Blue Book. Besides Northside school expectations, there are specific details about many BCSC policies.
WL teachers will use the Blue Book as the basis for their classroom policies and discipline procedures.
